snailing along...

Helloo back again, dont seem to have blogged much recently life getting in the way, biting me on the bum... But I'm here today, so whats happening?, well. Iv just had a nice little holiday. in Germany, in the lovely town of shlesvig, -   wonderful place with really good ice cream, crepes and danish pastries, yum yum and wonderful company, but back to the real world.....   came across an exciting little project in an old copy  of cloth. paper scissors, its a really clever magazine, always full of clever ideas .

Its a little cloth book of pockets, the moment I saw it- it gave me loads of ideas and I set too it straightaway...

I am using scraps of old dyeing experiments and just stitching into them, freely

this is a great little project, quick. easy and very portable -I like portability ,anything that can be popped into a small plastic box, carried around my busy life and pulled out for a quick 5 Min's is good for me..

I simply laid strips and scraps over the felt template, and machined them down, the finished pockets are about 4 inches square, and you could put packets of seeds or little sweets or photos in them, mine arnt finished yet but I think they will make a nice little gift for someone..
I will show you them when they are finished.

Iv sort of pinned them how they should be and  you will have to wait for the next instalment, I have no idea why this last photo is all the way down there .. its a blogging mystery...

  1. Welcome back - I wondered where you had been - and even if you were ill.
What a cute project. It reminded me of the lovely book for children which had lovely little envelopes with all sorts of exciting stuff in them (something about a postman)? It looks so exciting - selling on Etsy/Ebay/Folksy sometime soon?

  5. This looks fun! I don't suppose you're allowed to share the template so could you give rough dimensions please! It's difficult to tell and I'd love to try this!

  6. I love the comma all on it's lonesome:)
The bags are special, I love the tiny random fabric scraps, and the green stitching around the pink button is inspired, watch out, everyone will be making little scrappy bags now...
